Overall intention of this topic 'Music as a Therapy in sports- An evidence based approach' is to understand the correct approaches of music selection and regimes, this wide knowledge of music shall be useful for sports rehabilitation. The book is intended for understanding, evidence based practice, and resource guide for graduate and post graduate students in athletic trainers, sports physical therapy and other health professionals who is responsible for sports injury rehabilitation. It is understood that highly sophisticated rehabilitation methods may not be available for everyone and may not be always represent the most cost-effective road to recovery to that end in sports management and rehabilitation, music therapy is inexpensive and in many cases can be performed by the athlete himself.

Shaji John Kachanathu has done his PhD (Sports PT) under Faculty of Medicine, from Punjabi University, Patiala, India, Master's in Physiotherapy (MPTh.)(Sports Medicine) from Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi, India and also studied Master of Science (MS) in (Psychotherapy & Counselling) from IIPMS, Mumbai, India. He is currently working as a faculty member in College of Applied Medical Sciences at King Saud University, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He has been worked as Associate/Assistant Professor under various universities like Maharishi Dayanand, Pt. B D Sharma, Manav Rachna International, and Rajasthan University of Health Sciences etc. Formerly also worked as Sports Physiotherapist for Indian Shooting Team, Federation of International Hockey and has been actively involved as Sports Physiotherapist in various sports at International/ National levels and also empanelled as Doping Control Officer (DCO) for National Anti-Doping Authority (NADA) under Sports Ministry of India. He has also served as consultant in physiotherapy for different reputed hospitals in Delhi NCR (Sitaram Bhartia Institute of Science & Research/Johns Speciality Physiotherapy Clinic etc.). He is actively involved with scientific researches and also authored several publications in peer reviewed journals and presented many scientific paper presentations.
