Galloping Instability to Chaos of Cables

This book provides students and researchers with a systematic solution for fluid-induced structural vibrations, galloping instability and the chaos of cables. They will also gain a better understanding of stable and unstable periodic motions and chaos in fluid-induced structural vibrations. Further, the results presented here will help engineers effectively design and analyze fluid-induced vibrations.

Albert C.J. Luo is an internationally recognized professor in nonlinear dynamics and mechanics. He is a Distinguished Research Professor at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, USA. His principal research interests lie in the fields of Hamiltonian chaos, nonlinear deformable-body dynamics, discontinuous dynamical systems, regularity and complexity in nonlinear systems, analytical and numerical solutions of differential equations.

Bo Yu is an assistant professor at University of Wisconsin Platteville, USA. His research interests lie in nonlinear dynamics and fluid-induced vibrations.
